Omaha did very well in a recent national social experiment to test our honesty. Honest Tea set up unmanned racks of cold beverages for $1 at 60 locations in all 50 states. In The Old Market, 97% of those who grabbed a drink paid for it.
Nationally, the figure was 95%. Six other cities tied with Omaha as ranking 4th in the country with 97%. They are Detroit, Clearwater, Louisville, Indianapolis, Santa Monica, and Portland, Maine. The most honest city was Honolulu at 100%. Des Moines turned in a 95% honesty rate and Kansas City had 89%.
Set Goldman, co-founder and TeaEO of Honest Tea said, “The 95% honesty rate we saw this year suggests that Americans are a lot more honest than we give ourselves credit for.” To read the full report, CLICK HERE.
