A 31-year old Omaha man was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for illegally possessing a firearm.. Marlon A. Washington was convicted in 2008 of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. It is a violation of federal law for him to possess a firearm.
In addition to the three year prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp ordered Washington to serve three years of supervised release following is release from prison.
On December 7 last year, a search warrant was served at Washington’s home near 30th & Pinkney. Authorities found five firearms, a marijuana growing operation, and four grams of crack cocaine. A Visa debit card and an insurance card in Washington’s name were also found along with ammunition.
