Omahan Indicted in Tax Case

Forty-two-year-old Adam Mwanza of Omaha, is charged in a 15-count federal grand jury indictment alleging improprieties in tax preparations.

It’s alleged that for calendar years 2007 and 2008, Mwanza aided, assisted, advised, and prepared individual income tax returns for taxpayers knowing the income tax returns were false and the taxpayers were not entitled to claim the various deductions, credits, and refunds the defendant claimed on their tax returns.

The maximum possible penalty for each count includes imprisonment of three years, a $250,000 fine, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
