The Omaha police department is again collecting unwanted or illegal guns and ammunition.
The Gun Amnesty Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the
Bakers Place parking lot at 50th Street and Ames Avenue. Police say
no questions will be asked about the weapons and no arrests
connected to the guns and ammo will be made.
Police have held similar collections in the past to keep guns
off Omaha streets. In December, more than four dozen guns and 400
pounds of ammunition were turned in.
