Omaha Man Sentenced For Counterfeiting

A 23-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to ten months in prison for counterfeiting.

In addition to his prison term, Emmanuel Macheik will serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison. He was also ordered to make restitution of $1170.00.

On January 24 of 2011, Bellevue police and United States Secret Service agents interviewed a juvenile who had passed some counterfeit notes at Bryan High School.

Investigation led to Macheik, who reportedly printed the counterfeit on a computer in his bedroom at his Omaha home near 34th and Augusta Ave.

A search warrant resulted in the seizure of several grocery bags containing $3,800.00 in both-sided bills, as well as a printer, paper cutter, computer hard drive, several boxes of linen paper, a shotgun, a 9 mm pistol, and ammunition.

Approximately $1,170.00 the counterfeit currency had been passed at 28 locations.
