Omaha Man Charged In December Robbery

According to police reports, police were called to a home near 40th & Ames Ave during the noon hour on December 27.

A 25-year-old woman told police she opened her front door and let in an acquaintance. As the female visitor entered, 34-year-old Trentelle A. Clifton followed the visitor inside without the home owner's permission.

Clifton then grabbed the woman and punched her in the left eye twice. He then, allegedly, placed a handgun towards the woman's mouth. Clifton demanded "additional money" at gunpoint and grabbed a safe containing $500 and the woman's cell phone.

Both "visitors" then ran from the house and took off in a white Chevy Lumina.

Clifton was arrested Thursday morning and charged with robbery, use of a gun in the commission of a felony, felon in possession of a gun, terroristic threats and theft by unlawful taking.

No word on the woman who accompanied Clifton into the home.
