Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert has declared a snow emergency effective midnight Tuesday night. The concept of a snow emergency is still relatively new to Omahans. It begins with this easy instruction: Parking is not permitted on snow routes and odd-even parking restrictions will be in effect in all neighborhoods east of 72nd Street.
Vehicles should be parked on the side of the street with odd addresses by midnight since Wednesday is the 5th of February (an odd number) and move to the other side (even addresses) on Thursday since Thursday is the 6th of February (an even number).
