Their mission: Planning the future of Nebraska's largest school district. More than two hundred people came out to the first of five Strategic Planning Forums for the Omaha Public School District.
Parents, staff, and community members shared Sunday evening what they want to see change over the next several years.
It was a great turnout for the first event, with many parents excited about getting to say what they would like to see done.
"A lot of times ya know we complain a lot, but when you have a chance to be part of the solution then we should take every advantage of that that we can, to see what we can do to help with that situation, so it's good that they want our input too," said Phyllis Gosier, OPS Parent.
Five different languages were represented at the forum. OPS provided translators.
The next forums will be October 22nd from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at North Magnet High (4410 N. 36th St.), October 23rd from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the TAC Board Room (3215 Cuming St.), October 23rd from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at South High Magnet School (4519 S. 24th St.), and October 24th from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Burke High School (12200 Burke Blvd.).
