The Omaha Public Library now has a modern take on the old bookmobile.
The book bike is used to haul dozens of books around town with the help an attached cart behind the bicycle.
Anyone can check out a book when they see the bike and also make use of it's mobile wi-fi
The idea is to engage the community in both reading and fitness.
"It's an extension of what we've been doing in the community," said Executive Director Gary Wasdin in an interview with WOWT 6 News.
"We're serving people where they are, meeting them at different events around town. So the bike let's us bring those materials with us."
The bike is in operation thanks to the Omaha Public Library Foundation and the Omaha Bike Club.
The first scheduled appearance is Dundee Days.
