The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
OPPD crews have repaired the damage that resulted when a car hit a transformer at North 72nd and Cass streets in Omaha shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday. The accident caused a fire and outage impacting 1,221 customers.
Electricity was partially restored by 6:54 a.m. and most customers had their power back by 7:14 a.m. The damaged transformer and switch were replaced and power was fully restored at 12:38 p.m.
