The Omaha Police Department is investigating two robberies that occurred within six hours of each other.
The first happened at 10:40 p.m. Monday at Sam’s Food and Liquor, near 30th & Farnam Street. An employee told investigators that a black male, described as 5’4,” wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a mask and jeans, displayed a firearm and demanded cash. The robber got away with money and some alcohol; he was last seen leaving the store, on foot, toward the southeast.
The second robbery happened at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday at the Quick Trip near 47th & Hamilton. Once again, an employee told police the robber displayed a gun and demanded money. The suspect took the cash and ran from the store.
The employee described the second suspect as a black male in his late 30’s to early 40’s, roughly 5’6” to 5’7” and weighing approximately 250 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
