This should help take a bite out of crime. The Omaha Police Department introduced Tye and Kane on Monday. Both were recently certified as police K9s.
Tye’s handler, Officer Jodi Sautter, decided to name him after fallen Omaha police officer Jason “Tye" Pratt and Pratt’s wife and daughters got to meet the K9 Monday.
Daughter Jordan Laue said, “I'm really happy that they named him that, and honored, because the police officers have done a lot for us. And it's just really nice."
Both Tye and Kane will work narcotics and patrol. Both are just under two-years-old.
