Omaha police arrested 46 people for Driving Under the Influence during an enhanced DUI Enforcement between Friday, March 14th, 2014 and Saturday, March 22nd, 2014. The enforcement included St. Patrick's Day.
This time frame included St. Patrick’s Day Enforcement. The Omaha Police Department conducted a total of ten enforcement operations.
Of the 46 charged with Driving Under the Influence, 33 were first time offenders, 10 were hit with their second DUI while two more were arrested for DUI Felony Offense.
Three drivers refused to take a breath test, five were cited for open containers and 16 minors in possession were caught.
Officers also wrote numerous traffic tickets including, 186 for speeding, 89 for Registration / Insurance Violations, 166 moving violations, 37 seat belt violations, seven for Careless Driving/Negligent Driving, and 18 for driving during suspension.
Seven drivers were also cited for Possession Marijuana Less than One Ounce and seven more for Possession Drug Equipment.
