Eight ladies were introduced to society in the 55th Cotillion hosted by The Links chapter in Omaha.
All the high school girls had to have good grades, perform community service and be role models in their communities to be debutantes.
Organizers say the ball emphasizes the importance of service.
"This is something that is a threshold into their life as young ladies, it is so important in today's hip things that are going on that they can stop and have an elegant evening," said Mamie Bryan, President of The Links.
The top three debutantes also received scholarship money for college.
