Omaha Man Invents Product for Golfers

An Omaha man is hoping to make it big with his business idea that makes playing the game of golf a lot easier.

Todd Moss works a normal 9 to 5 and then comes home to pursue his passion right out of his garage.

“A year ago I just decided I had to get this idea out of my head because I think it's a great idea and it’s been a whirlwind ever since.”

That idea was a six by eight case called the "1caddy."

The “1caddy” has compartments that make it easy to carry everything a golfer may ever need, from golf balls, car keys, a cell phone, and even a cigar.

In just three months the "1caddy" is catching on. Moss has sold more than 2,000 of them to golf events around the country. His most impressive sale was in Medinah, Illinois. The city is hosting the Ryder Cup next month.

But like any small start-up company Moss faces the daunting task of having the resources to get his invention in stores and at golf tournaments. He does all the shipping and marketing himself.

Moss says even pursuing his entrepreneurial spirit was a giant leap of faith.

“I was scared and I didn't think I could do it and I didn't for a long time.”

Now Moss is hoping every golfer will be lining up to buy the "1caddy".

“If you have a dream, get a mentor and have them talk to you,” says Moss.

“One name may be all you need to make a new idea turn into something special.”

Moss has already started the process of putting a patent on the "1caddy".

You can but the case for $26 online.
