A study by national online real estate brokerage firm Movoto found Omaha and Lincoln are among the best cities for women to work.
The report was based on factors such as job growth, unemployment rank, adjusted earnings for women, number of women’s professional groups per capita and commute time.
Lubbock, Texas was rated number one. Omaha came in second for having one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, solid job growth and a commute time of 20 minutes. What really made it stand out for women in particular was its adjusted earnings for women score. On average, women in Omaha made $663 per week last year. Adjusted for the low cost of living of 82 (where 100 is the national average), Omaha women came in as the 13th best paid in the country.
Lincoln was fourth best in the study. At 19 minutes, it had one of the shortest commute times. Lincoln also aced it when it came to recent job growth and low unemployment.
