Omaha's Acting Parks Director, Brook Bench, has been hired as Assistant Parks Director.
Brook Bench has over eighteen years experience with the City of Omaha Parks Department. He began his career in the Golf Division before moving to Park Maintenance, where his responsibilities included management of the Civic Auditorium. In 2005, Mr. Bench became Park Maintenance Manager.
As Park Maintenance Manager, Bench was among five city officials to serve on Unified Command, the City’s frontline response team during the 2011 flood.
Bench has served as Acting Director of the Parks Department for more than one year. As Acting Director, he has managed the rebuilding of the river front and N.P. Dodge Park. Bench will continue to serve as Acting Parks Director until a new Director is named.
