Gavilon Grain is buying five Texas grain elevators that will boost the company's capacity to store and market corn, sorghum and soybeans.
Gavilon says the elevators it is buying can handle up to 5.4 million bushels of grain. They serve farmers in Willacy, Cameron and Hidalgo counties in the Rio Grande valley.
The deal includes grain elevators in Harlingen, Progreso Lakes, Raymondville, Sebastian and San Perlita, Texas.
Gavilon is based in Omaha and has about 2,000 employees at roughly 300 locations worldwide.
