The Omaha City Council will meet for the final time in 2013 Tuesday. One of the big items on the agenda is the lengthy battle between the City and firefighters.
The Council will need to decide whether to sign-off on a deal that would keep all rigs in service and all stations open. It also includes no layoffs of employees hired before February, but will downsize a paramedic class. If approved, the deal would put the budget at $90.6 million.
Another big issue up for consideration Tuesday is the redevelopment of Crossroads Mall. The same developer who revampled the Gretna Outlet Mall wants to give Crossroads a makeover. The Council will consider giving the group $50,000 to do a redevelopment study.
