Non compliance is up from last year after the Nebraska State Patrol checked 84 businesses on Friday and Saturday to make sure employees were checking IDs before selling alcohol. Twelve businesses, many in the Old Market, did not make the grade.
According the Nebraska State Patrol, the twelve businesses that did not pass the checks are:
Sullivan's Steakhouse, 222 S. 15th
801 Chophouse, 1403 Farnam
Whiskey Tango, 1419 Farnam
Barry O's, 420 South 10th
Stokes, 1122 Howard
DC's Saloon, 610 South 14th
Magnolia Hotel, 1615 Howard
Doubletree Hotel, 1616 Dodge
La Mesa, 829 Tara Plaza, Papillion
Super Target, 718 North Washington, Papillion
AVP Energy, 10505 Pacific Street

The Nebraska State Patrol says both the employees who sold the alcohol and the businesses will face charges.
Employees received a criminal citation for a misdemeanor which carries a $1,000 fine or 1 year in jail.
Businesses could face up to a 10 day suspension or possibly a liquor license cancellation, severity depends on the business history of previous violations.
