Old Market Mayhem

A disturbance outside an Old Market bar leads to a slue of charges for a Heartland man; however, those charges were later dropped.

According to police reports a highly intoxicated man was yelling outside of Billy Frog’s Bar in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 18th. When approached by bar employees he refused to leave. A private security guard was also unsuccessful in getting him to move on.

Omaha Police said when they arrived at the bar they found the suspect cuffed and bleeding from his nose. The security guard told officers that he had cuffed the suspect, but a friend had been interfering with the process. The officer said he was attempting to take the friend into custody when the suspect, with hands cuffed behind his back, tried to kick him in the head.

Twenty-two-year-old Samuel Huppert refused treatment for his bloody nose and was arrested on three charges. Omaha police confirm those charges were later dropped.

The report does not indicate what happened to the friend.
