A Lincoln police officer was killed Wednesday night while driving to work. The Nebraska State Patrol says Officer Anthony Howe was involved in a single car crash on Interstate 80 about 8:20pm. Howe was traveling to Lincoln from York where he lives.
Officer Howe was an 8-year veteran of the Lincoln Police Department. He was an investigator with the department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
He began his law enforcement career with the York Police Department in 1996. His career then took him to the York County Sheriff’s Office and then the Lincoln Police Department.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie and three children.
The accident itself is being investigated by the York County Sheriff’s office.
