Ralston police said Friday the driver who struck an officer in an apartment complex parking lot Thursday morning has been arrested.
Twenty-eight-year-old William Shea was booked on one count of first-degree assault on a police officer and one count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, both felony charges.
The officer who was hit suffered scrapes and bruises.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was checking on the well being of a man inside a vehicle parked in the lot near 74th and Q streets. When he awakened the man, they talked for a few minutes when the driver suddenly put the car in gear and took off, dragging the officer a short distance before he fell to the pavement.

Anyone with information on the location of the vehicle is asked to contact the Ralston Police Department at 402-331-1786 or 402-444-5802.
