O’Visitors at the Iowa Legislature

Lawmakers in the Iowa House and Senate are welcoming a member of the Irish Parliament to chambers.

Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy appeared before the legislature on Wednesday. She is visiting for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday. Corcoran-Kennedy was elected to parliament in 2011 and previously served as a county official.

Corcoran-Kennedy will attend St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Emmetsburg. The town holds a parade and other festivities each year. Emmetsburg is named for Irish nationalist Robert Emmet.

Sen. Daryl Beall presented Corcoran-Kennedy with a certificate of recognition in honor of her visit.
