The Omaha Public Power District has approved a new wind power agreement.
OPPD's board of directors voted to by 18 megawatts a year from a new wind farm being built near Broken Bow. Edison Mission Group is building the wind farm. It's expected to come online in 2012.
Edison is based in Irvine, California.
OPPD has more than 340,000 customers in 13 counties in southeast Nebraska.
