Omaha police will have another edge in tracking down the bad guys once new cruisers hit the streets.
The new model is a Chevy Caprice, which is faster than the old cruisers, able to go from zero to 60 in under six seconds. The new cars are also safer. Additional features mean officers will need additional training.
The city will phase in 40 new cruisers a year over the next four years.
