A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for northern Mills County in Iowa and northeastern Cass and eastern Sarpy counties in Nebraska until 3:45 p.m. Sunday. A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday for southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
Police Sunday identified the Omaha woman shot in her home Saturday night as 38-year-old Stephanie Mason-Brown, who died at Creighton University Medical Center.
Police were called to the residence near Florence Boulevard and Sprague Street around 10 p.m. There were indications the shooter or shooters may have broken into the house, then ran from the scene through an alley.
