Temperatures this afternoon across the Heartland were much more in line with October and not December.
Highs across the region ranged from the mid 50s to the mid 60s, a solid 15°-20° above average for this time of year.
Omaha Eppley Airport climbed to 56° which was leaps and bounds warmer than the normal high of 40°. Despite the mild weather, temperatures were still not quite warm enough for any records to be shattered as the record stays in tact for Omaha at 67° set back in 1973.
Enjoy the mild spell while it lasts as an arctic cold front is scheduled to arrive in the Heartland on Tuesday sending temperatures in a downward spiral. By Thursday, highs will plummet into the teens with lows in the single numbers.
