A 34-year-old man has died after his car rammed into a tree in northeast Nebraska's Stanton County.
Sheriff Mike Unger says the wreckage was reported by a passer-by about 6:40 a.m. Sunday. The accident occurred just off 576th Avenue, about four miles southeast of Pilger. The sheriff says Darin Gentrup, of rural Wisner, was alone in his car when it ran off the road and hit the tree.
The sheriff says alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
