The chaplain at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte has died after his pickup crashed in Lincoln.
Lincoln police say 65-year-old Terry Cook apparently experienced
a medical episode before his pickup jumped a median at about 4 p.m.
Thursday, hit a sign, and went off the road striking an embankment.
Police Officer Katie Flood says Cook's wife reported he had been
complaining of chest pains recently.
Cook was transported by a rescue crew to a Lincoln hospital,
where he was pronounced dead.
Cook lived in Kansas City but has worked as the chaplain for the
hospital in North Platte since 2005.
The hospital is working on a memorial service.
