Good news for those living along rivers in the metro area...no ice jams.
A spokesman with the Papio National Resources District tells Channel Six News the fluctuating temperatures this year have kept a flowing channel open on the Elkhorn and Platte Rivers all winter long.
Usually this time of year, homeowners along rivers in Nebraska and Iowa are concerned about flooding because ice jams are changing the flow of water upstream.
