It's been more than a month since an Omaha man disappeared and family members are not giving up hope. U.S. ATV Search and Rescue Team volunteers spent Saturday searching along the Missouri River by the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.

They used ATVs and K-9's to try and find 49-year-old James Marten, last seen December 10th. His vehicle was found December 16th in a parking lot near the Omaha riverfront.

“You feel somewhat helpless, you don't know what to do, so this is one of those things you try to explore every possibility,” said Ken Ramold.

Marten has a history of depression. The search team will look again on Sunday.

"I just need resolution," says Jane Marten, James' wife.

"The unknown is the hardest part," says Stephen Marten, James' brother.

Jane and Stephen would like this bad dream to be over. "I've been walking in what feels like a nightmare," says Jane.

"It's like a dream that you're not waking up from," says Stephen. "It's like somebody kicked you in the stomach and you don't know where to turn."

James is the father of 16-year-old Jackie and 14-year-old Trevor. His wife says he had been dealing with depression and had attempted suicide in September. He was last seen driving to pick up his son from school, but he never made it.

"I kept waiting and waiting that night and the later it got I just knew that he must have done something," Jane said. A month later, both his wife and brother are still holding on to a sliver of hope.

"Obviously, it would be great if he was alive," Jane said. "There's maybe one percent (chance)."

"We know there's two ways this story can end," said Stephen. "We're holding out hope, but we're prepared for the worst."
