New superintendent picked for the Louisville Public School District.
Greg Shepard, currently the high school principal at Ralston, Nebraska, will assume the Louisville district’s top administrative post on July 1st, 2011.
The Cassgram reports Ed Kasl, the current superintendent, officially announced his retirement at the September board of education meeting although he had informed the board about a year ago of his intentions. (archives 11/15/10)
A board committee reviewed and interviewed candidates. That resulted in a series of special meetings in the last few days in which five candidates were interviewed and the field narrowed to two before Shepard was hired on a 5 to 0 vote.
