Planned Parenthood of the Heartland has opened a new health center in north-central Omaha that will offer abortions.
The facility that opened Wednesday also will offer cancer screenings, treatment for sexually transmitted diseases and a special exam suite for sexual-assault victims.
Planned Parenthood had been operating two health facilities in the city, but neither offered abortions. The new facility replaces one in northwest Omaha.
The new space also has an education resource center available to the public.
Planned Parenthood's offices in Lincoln and in Council Bluffs, Iowa - across the river from Omaha - already offer abortions.
