Sean Denney, spokesman for the doctors group building Kearney Regional Medical Center, told the Kearney Hub that work has been
delayed because of financing issues and a change in the construction timeline.
Work on the hospital started last March, but it was expected to be a collaboration between the doctors group and Good Samaritan Hospital.
Lawmakers brokered a compromise between the two groups that would maintain one hospital in Kearney, but at two locations.
The agreement soon fell through.
The hospital was scheduled to be open by the end of 2010. Now Denney says it's likely to open early next year.
