Deffenbaugh Industries, the contractor hired to pick up solid waste in Omaha, has a new reason to explain a continued delayed in yard waste service. The company says it has a shortage of trained drivers.
Pick up service for garbage and recyclables has been on schedule. However, in some areas, yard waste has been delayed since the spring. Several neighborhoods in northwest have seen delays for eight of the past nine weeks.
Before Thursday, the company has blamed the delays on an unexpected abundance of yard waste. The company says it will continue to collect yard waste this Saturday and Sunday this week.
