There's a growing number of people who are saving money by fixing things on their own, from leaky faucets to repairing a car engine. Now, theres a new store in town to help get the job done.
Northern Tool And Equipment at 72nd and Pacific will soon hold their grand opening. They have everything from shoelaces to engine hoists. "We may have some big product here, but we're also designed to help out," said Northern Tool And Equipment Manager Richyrd Sorsveen.
Jim Grotrian is a "weekend warrior." Like many, he's already familiar with the store through its catalog. "I've ordered some things online, so I was excited to find out they're opening a store here in Omaha."
Store manages know there is a growing market for people who like to fix things themselves and save some money along the way. "With the economy slowing down recently we've been seeing a lot more people come in," Sorsveen said. "They're fixing stuff themselves and their asking questions which is excellent. Not only do we learn what they're looking for can help them get the proper tools to get the job done."
Northern Tool And Equipment is already open for business, but they plan a grand opening later in August. The company has more than 75 retail stores, but this is the first one in Nebraska.
