New charges are being filed against a woman whose name came to light during a quadruple murder spree recently in Omaha.
Erica Jenkins is the sister of suspected killer, Nikko Jenkins. Erica is one of several Jenkins family members arrested for separate crimes at the time Nikko Jenkins was taken into custody for murder.
The latest charge against Erica Jenkins is for robbery. According to police reports, Jenkins allegedly robbed a 26-year-old woman outside the Sinclair at 56th and Ames on August 12, 2013. The victim told police she was sitting in the passenger side of the car when a woman opened the driver's side door, reached in, and grabbed the victim's wallet and iPhone. The victim told police the suspect then sprayed her in the face with what appeared to be mace or pepper spray.
Readers may recall that Erica Jenkins had to be forcibly removed from the courtroom at an appearance earlier this month when she began shouting at the judge and then kicked over a podium.
Jenkins has been in police custody since August 29, when police arrested her near Budget Rent-A-Car on Abbott Drive. She was originally arrested for felony criminal mischief out of Sarpy County.
Her brother Nikko Jenkins is charged with four counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Andrea Kruger, Curtis Bradford, Juan Uribe-Pena and Jorge Cajiga-Ruiz.
In addition to Erica, Nikko's other sister, Melonie, his mother, Laurie, and a friend, Christine Bordeaux, are all being held in jail.
