There's a brand new building under the Boys Town umbrella. The rainy weather Tuesday forced officials indoors for the ribbon cutting ceremony but Boys Town now has a new residential treatment center.
The 34-bed facility will offer care for troubled youngsters, age five to 18. It's designed for those with more serious behavioral problems.
Boys Town's Doug Spellman said, "Our kids who come referred to us generally have major mental illness issues combined with problems with aggression. Most of them have been victims of abuse and have had very difficult lives in their early years."
The new center is located at the Boys Town National Research Hospital on the Pacific Street campus.
