Neighbors Quick To Lend Helping Hand

An Elkhorn family didn't expect the wind and rain for Mother's Day, nor the damage that came along with it. A huge tree branch from a front yard tree came crashing down on their cars, narrowly missing their home during Sunday nights storm.

The Brill family said, it was a scary moment.

"We came over here for mother's day, standing over here looking out actually. Couldn't really see to far, and all of a sudden we heard a crack and here comes a tree coming at the window that we are standing at," said Jared Brill.

But almost as quick as the damage piled up, helping hand showed up to clear it away.

"All the neighbors around here have always been super nice and super good, we are a pretty close neighborhood, so everybody just came around and started chopping up trees," said Brill.

Not a normal Mother's Day, but it still held most of the qualities desired; Friends, family, love and big splash of wind and rain.
