Nebraskans Encouraged To Go Take A Hike
Nebraskans are invited to take part in an annual wellness walk scheduled for noon Thursday on the second floor of the Capitol in Lincoln.
Participants include Gov. Dave Heineman, University of Nebraska Lincoln Track & Field All-American Ashley Miller and Nebraska Chief Medical Officer Dr. Joann Schaefer.
The walk is designed to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. It's part of the LiveWell Challenge Series, sponsored by the Nebraska Sports Council. Organizers are encouraging residents to walk for 30 minutes even if they can't attend the event.
