A 38-year-old Lincoln man has been given a year in jail for not paying nearly $28,600 in child support.
A news release from the office of Saunders County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff says LaVonne Lutz was sentenced on Monday. Lutz had pleaded no contest to two counts of criminal nonsupport, and several other related counts were dropped. The two sentences of a year each are to be served at the same time.
The child support was ordered by the court for two children.
Lutz didn't appear for a hearing on March 12. Authorities tracked him to Page County, Iowa, where he was taken into custody. He waived extradition proceedings.
