A Nebraska man and an Iowa woman are among 16 new appointees to the United Soybean Board.
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a news release that the 16 represent a cross section of the soybean industry.
The Nebraskan is Mark Caspers; the Iowan is Laura Foell. They were nominated by their state soybean boards and will serve three-year terms beginning in December.
The 69-member United Soybean Board describes its mission as investing and leveraging soybean checkoff funds to maximize profit opportunities for U.S. soybean farmers.
