Nebraska will hold its first conference focusing on adoption and how to help children transition from foster care to permanent placement.
The event is meant to help attorneys, judges, caseworkers,
parents, teachers and mental health providers facilitate a
successful adoption. It will include sessions on responding to
children's mental health needs and helping them heal from trauma
and loss, as well as ethics and legislative policy.
The conference will be held Aug. 9-10 in Lincoln. It's sponsored
in part by the state Department of Health and Human Services.
