Nebraska, Iowa Unemployment Unchanged In May

The unemployment rates in Nebraska and Iowa remained unchanged in May. Both states released figures on Friday.

In Nebraska, the unemployment rate held steady at 3.9%. The rate fell from 4.0% from March to April. The last time Nebraska’s figure was at 3.9% was in December 2008.

The unemployment rate in Omaha also remained steady in May at 4.2%. The rate in Lincoln rose 0.1% to 3.4%. To read the full report for Nebraska, click here.

In Iowa, the unemployment rate held steady at 5.1%. A year ago, it stood at 6.0%. The state has not yet released May figures for various Iowa cities. To read the full report for Iowa, click here.
