A Nebraska state park is lowering some of its lodging rates and offering indoor activities to attract winter visitors.
Officials at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland say they are offering a 30 percent lodging discount Sunday through Thursday nights during the winter, except on holidays.
Park officials say visitors can paint ceramics at the craft center, see a play at the Kountze Memorial Theater, and enjoy the Activity Center's indoor playground and activity simulators. When weather permits, the park also allows ice fishing at Qwest Lake, sledding on three toboggan runs and snow-shoeing or cross-country skiing on its trails.
