Nebraska Prison Guard Denies Sex Charge

A Nebraska prison worker has denied having sex with a parolee.

The York News-Times reports that Michael Huston pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in York County District Court. He's charged with sexual abuse of a parolee and prohibited acts of a corrections officer.

His trial has been set for May.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services has suspended
Huston without pay, pending resolution of his case.

State law bars corrections officers from having sex with parolees, because the parolees remain under the control of the prison system until they have completed parole.
