A Husker fan told Channel Six News Fact Finders that he purchased four tickets at the game in Madison Saturday night that turned out to be counterfeits.
“Joe” said he’s embarrassed and asked that channel six news not reveal his complete identity. He told “fact finders” that he purchased four tickets for $142 each from a scalper just a block from the state capitol in Madison, Wisconsin Saturday afternoon.
Joe said someone was buying tickets from the scalper as he walked up. Now he wonders if that was a plant to draw in victims. Joe said he realized something might be fishy when he noticed later that the back of the tickets were white. Real tickets which had a yellow shade.
Gate ticket takers turned away Joe, his son, brother and cousin. That’s four Nebraska fans that went to Madison without tickets and not only left disappointed with the outcome of the game but also lost more than $600 without seeing a down.
Joe said he didn’t report the incident to police rather accepted it as an expensive lesson in buying from scalpers.
