The Kearney Hub is reporting that Robert Eacker was
convicted on Tuesday.

His sentencing has not been scheduled, but the felony theft conviction carries a prison term ranging from one
to 20 years.

Eacker was in charge of a Vontz Paving project on a 10-mile stretch of Nebraska Highway 10 south of Pleasanton last summer.

Prosecutors say he diverted 34 asphalt loads to rural residents instead of ensuring the loads were added to a stockpile for the repaving project.

The asphalt was valued at $10,200.
