The Nebraska Board of Education has chosen its leaders for 2012.
The board voted Tuesday to re-elect Jim Scheer, of Norfolk, president. And Mark Quandahl, of Omaha, was chosen to be vice president.
Scheer was elected to the board in 2004. He is a businessman and previously served as Norfolk's mayor.
Quandahl was appointed to the board in 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Nebraska's Law College. Quandahl represented Omaha's district 31 in the state Legislature from 1999 to 2005.
